Role Outline/Responsibilities:
Installs new software releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Technologies supported include operating systems, servers, networks, system security, hardware and other software applications. Troubleshoots system issues and resolves or escalates. Creates and updates system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and documenting patch management procedures for operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, Linux, other) and software
- Responsible for coordination, planning, testing, installation and verification of system patches and software upgrades across Grange Enterprise Desktop/Laptops and servers
- Planning software pushes using SCCM
- Distributing packages to test and production groups
- Responsible for migrating Laptops/Desktops from windows 7 to windows 10 and upgrade Windows 10 software to new releases
- Test packages thoroughly in test environment
- Troubleshooting software package deployment
- Deploying packages to required bases
- Reporting status of software pushes
- Provide first and second-level support for the upgrade to Windows 10
- Participate in device collection, configuration, and upgrade of client endpoint devices
- Perform successful upgrade of multiple laptops / desktops on a daily basis
- Ensure checklist items are completed and that the end devices are issue-free
- Provide support for escalations from Help Desk and desk side support technicians
- Ensuring servers, workstations and infrastructure devices have latest approved patches
- Developing draft checklists, guides, best practices and procedures to support patch management
- Patch assigned equipment in accordance with the patching policy and schedule.
- Develop scripts (PowerShell, bash, etc.) to automate configuration management and patch deployment.
- Responsible for assisting in the resolution and remediation of newly identified security vulnerabilities and risks.
- Responsible for providing pro-active feedback to the appropriate IT manager and/or internal customer.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Scripting experience using PowerShell, VBscript, and/or WSscript knowledge and experience using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
