The Role Responsibilities

Enterprise Batch Scheduling Services and Support

• Participate in driving the strategy, service delivery and customer support of batch scheduling using BMC Control-M Workload Automation v8, v9.0.18, v9.0.19
• Provide services in job scheduling, scripting/programming (of robust automation processes) and liaise with production support, developers and project managers.
• In the function the role will entail Handling Control-M WCM requests for Creation and maintenance of job scheduling flows
• Handling user requests and take appropriate action to add, delete or modify Production, test, system and housekeeping application batch workflows
• Control-M Scheduling Calendar Management and maintenance
• Delivering end user training
• Participating in various projects related to Control-M
• Ensuring proper documentation for work performed
• Management of robust SOP’s, training, communication
• Assisting application teams in general with fulfilment of requests related to Scheduling
• Analyse and evaluate new or existing procedures, information systems or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness w.r.t requirements, procedures and problems to determines the need for further automation or to improve existing systems from end users
• Providing Batch Scheduling support, Troubleshoot and take corrective action for problems involving Control-M dependencies as needed to resume normal operations in accordance with specific guidelines and procedures
• Maintain all existing Control-M Scheduling objects and definitions
• Control-M Site-Standards creation and maintenance

Our Ideal Candidate

• Must have strong and deep knowledge of Batch Scheduling concepts
• Proven experience as Batch Scheduler, must have 5 years of experience with BMC Control-M Scheduler functions to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot batch jobs
• Working experience with Control-M v8, v9.0.18 and v9.0.19
• Must have experience in a batch environment; knowledge of support operations, best practices and processes
• Highly desirable experience in batch management / market leading Workload Automation tools space
• Able to work in 24 x 7 x 365 of environment, in OnCall/Standby support model
• Experience with automated enterprise batch scheduling tools, preferably BMC Control-M Scheduler, WCM – Workload Change Manager and BIM-Batch Impact Manager
• Technical knowledge and experience in the BMC toolset:
• BMC Control-M
• BMC Control-M Automation API
• Problem Management and root cause analysis
• Experience with Control-M Administration will be beneficial
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people of different skills, backgrounds, departments and management levels.
• Excellent technical, communication and presentation skills
• Practical knowledge of ITAM/SACM tools such as Remedy, SCCM and Monitoring tools
• University degree in preferably in a technical discipline, or equivalent, and relevant work experience
